What's Wrong with My RAM ProMaster 2500?
Whether you use your ProMaster 2500 for general contracting or construction or you're in logistics, doing deliveries or event management, it's everything you need in a RAM work van. It's not without occasional issues, though; here's a few you might run into, plus what to do about them if you do.
Three Common ProMaster 2500 Problems
1. The Doors Won't Close and Lock Right
The cause: a blocked one-way vent above the wheel wells. What's happening: it's likely prematurely pressurizing the cabin. The fix: try unclogging it. If that doesn't work, try to relieve pressure by opening a window or one of the front doors. This isn't a permanent solution, though. Your best bet is to tighten the bolt on the sliders' rails; that way, the magnetic link can lock the doors and trigger the lock sensor. If nothing seems to work, have a RAM dealer take a look at your van.
The Windows Get Stuck
The cause: window regulators gone bad (they were known issues for ProMaster 2500). The fix: they'll need replacement. How to do it: take the door panel, a couple of connectors, and some rivets off to access the regulator, swap it out, and replace everything with a rivet gun. This can be tricky, so it's advisable to get help from a RAM service center.
The Headlights Burn Out
The cause: a clogged drain in the windshield wiper reservoir on the driver's side. What's happening: rainwater is contacting electrical parts in the light. The fix: try unclogging the drain. If the problem persists, consult the pros at a CDJR service center.
