Born out of a need in the 1940s for high-quality vehicles soldiers could use in World War II, the Jeep brand of vehicles has been iconic ever since. In 1941, the first lightweight military 4x4 was introduced. This became the primary car used by troops and are known as the oldest four-wheel drive mass-produced SUVS. Jeep quickly gained a reputation for producing cars that were able to handle all kinds of terrain. The first Jeeps produced for civilians were produced starting in 1945 at their headquarters in Toledo, Ohio. These models were known as the CJ-2A. While they were popular for four decades, eventually, the ever-popular Wrangler model replaced them in 1986. The Jeep marque was eventually acquired by Chrysler and due to a popular demand in the 90’s for SUVs, the Jeep introduced the Grand Cherokee in 1992. This became one of the premium models in the lineup. The marque is now housed under what is known as the Fiat Chrysler Automobile Corporation.

To this day, the lineup of Jeep vehicles is still living up to the durable reputation they built for themselves.
